After 19 days away, I'm back in lovely Erfurt with less than a month to go before I make the big move. And I've returned with a new perception of my home German town: An American fella we met at a metro stop in Berlin said he was stuck in Erfurt once and found it frighteningly perfect. More on that lata.
I'm hoping to properly blob about my fantastic weeks of wanderlusing in parts. Check back to hear about beautiful Bayern, chasing schnitzel in Austria, a wipeout-full first skiing attempt in Switzerland, a very enjoyable family Christmas celebration involving a ham baked in a pig bread loaf, a spontaneous rendezvous in France, and why people in Berlin should not set off fireworks in the metro.
Also, some news: InWent, the organization taking care of us PPPers in Germany, sent an email over the break saying they had merged with another company and will now be known as GIZ. The Americans will understand why that is funny. You can bet we're having fun with that one here.
Let the rehashing begin...
